I no this post may seem odd to many.
Since most of the country and world for that matter have been experiencing some kind of weather...
Here in the Sonoran Desert it's been nothing but sunny and warm.
Not the type of weather to get you in the Christmas spirit.
Today though it been raining...
Yes, the wet stuff...
Just what we needed here in Phoenix to lift our spirits...
and put us in the Holiday mood...
So let it rain...let it rain...let it rain...

It's been awhile since my last post.
Thanksgiving's come and gone.
November's day's are numbered.
It always amazes me how quickly time passes by.
With all that goes on in all of our busy lives.
It's nice to reflect back on all that we have.

A good friend of mine turned me onto this website.
It's' a great site full of helpful recipes for non-toxic home cleaners.
I've always enjoyed making up a bucket of suds then spending a few hours cleaning the house. I use there all purpose cleaner recipe and add a squirt of liquid soap for a bit more cleaning power.
The site offers everything from shopping for a greener home, yard and garden. To non-toxic pest control and water conservation.
For those of you interested in making up your own cleaning products or purchasing environmentally friendly products. Go check it out!

Last week my youngest attended surf camp. It was the first time I'd every been away from him longer than a couple of day's...He had a great time and he was very generous about sharing his week with us...and yes, it made for a very long week but I did get to spend some quality time with my husband and that was a really good thing...

Another school year is coming to a close.
They seem to pass by so quickly.
Busily working away to finish this project by today.
The task was to create something, anything out of different shapes.
My son decided he wanted to make a house! Not a robot and I am glad because it turned out that almost everyone in his class decided to make robots...
We had a great time creating this house and I think it turned out perfect !!!

Spring is here in the valley of the sun once again... We have a lovely showing of desert daisies about town and the smell of orange blossoms in the air...

It's official I received an email from dottie angel (aka Tif Fussell). Thanks Tif !
I wrote her telling her that I would like to take on her challenge. She accepted so here we go. I do hope I can do her challenge justice. I have the love of shopping totally against me. Shoes, clothes, you name it. I am though this year realizing that I have to much stuff as I think we all do.It will be nice to cut back on purchases. This shall be fun because I do love to thrift as well. There are quite a few places to haunt here in Phoenix and it will be fun to visit them all with the hopes of some really fabulous finds.
So with that said let the shopping begin. I mean thrifting....

Valley of the Sun ?
To a Zonie like myself it feels more like the Valley of the rain .... and the temp may be a measly 52 degrees outside. It feels more like 32 . Rarely do we get the chance to sip on HOT tea and cuddle up in a blanket and want to watch an old movie in the middle of the day (bummer wish that could have been me) LOL . It's been a week of wet weather here in the desert and lots of snow in the high country !
We have probably had more rain this week than we get in one entire year !
With a weeks worth of clouds, rain, wind and colder weather ... I was able to spend some time with my beloved sewing machine and hook . In an attempt to create some new items for my neglected shop ... Hopefully the weather will cooperate just long enough for me to snap a few photos, we will see (not much light for good photos right now).

Circles
I seems to me today that I've been running around in circles.
I think that I am trying to accomplish something today but failing miserably.
Yesterday was a very good day though in that I finally put away and stored the Christmas tree...it's decorations... and what I believe to be the remainder of the holiday joy.
Packed neatly up into the attic
thanks to my lovely husband and son,
but today circles around and around I go
Sigh..
Hopefully tomorrow no circles.
Maybe a little more of this!
